Updating Browsers
Why do I need to update my browser?
You may find you are having trouble operating and loading some of your games for no apparent reason. This could be because the internet browser you have chosen to use needs to be updated. You can find a list of some of the most common browsers below and how to update them on your device.
Microsoft Edge
• Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left hand corner of your screen
• Click 'Settings'
• Select 'Updates & Security'
• Click 'Windows Update'
• Click 'Check for updates'
If they are found, they will be installed, and you will get the latest version of Edge. Once this has been completed, you will have ensured that your version of Microsoft Edge is up to date.
Internet Explorer
• Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left hand corner of your screen
• Type in 'Internet Explorer' and select this option
• Click on the gear icon in the top right-hand corner
• Select 'About Internet Explorer'
• Check the box next to install new versions automatically
• Click 'Close'
Google Chrome
There will be different steps to ensuring your browser is up to date, depending on the device you are using.
Desktop Device:
• Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left hand corner of your screen
• Type in 'Google Chrome' and select this option
• Click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner
• Select 'Update Google Chrome'
• Click 'Relaunch'
If you do not have the option to 'Update Google Chrome', this would mean you're on the latest version of the Google Chrome web browser.
iPhone/iPad
• Open the 'App Store'
• At the bottom, tap 'Updates'
• In the 'Pending Updates', look for Google Chrome
• If Google Chrome is listed, tap Update to install
• If asked, enter your Apple ID password, which will then allow any updates to download and install
Android
• Open the 'Play Store'
• Tap 'Menu' in the top left-hand corner
• Select 'My Apps & Games'
• In the 'Updates', look for Google Chrome
• If Google Chrome is listed, tap Update to install
Mozilla Firefox
• Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left hand corner of your screen
• Type in 'Mozilla Firefox' and select this option
• Click on the three lines in the top right-hand corner
• Select 'Help'
• Click on 'About Firefox'
• The About Mozilla Firefox window will open and begin checking for updates and downloading them automatically
• When the updates are ready to be installed, click 'Restart Firefox'
Safari
There will be different steps to ensuring your browser is up to date, depending on the device you are using.
Desktop
• Open the Safari internet browser
• Click on the apple icon in the top left-hand corner
• Select 'Software Update'
• Ensure the box next to 'Safari' has been checked
• Click 'Install'
• Restart your device when the update has finished installing
iPhone/iPad
• Open the 'App Store'
• At the bottom, tap 'Updates'
• In the 'Pending Updates', look for Safari
• If Safari is listed, tap Update to install
• If asked, enter your Apple ID password, which will then allow any updates to download and install
